Samambaia - Week 11

Game Over

Hey guys so this is officially my last time emailing in the mission. It's a weird feeling but also a satisfying one. I have loved my mission so much and it's going to be weird to finally leave Brasil.

We had a less-active member come to church for the first time in months today and then celebrated her birthday this week after church, her name is Erica and it was amazing to see her there.

I also had the really neat opportunity to visit a past area of mine and I decided to visit Asa Norte, an area that I loved a lot. I wasn't able to see everyone but it was incredibly special to see Wagner, a recent convert of mine who was recently called to be the ward secretary. He has progressed so much over this last year it amazes me. I testify of the amazing blessing it is to see the difference that the gospel makes in someones life and the blessing it is to have played a part in that change.

I'm going to miss the mission quite a bit, but at the same time, I can't wait to see all of you.

See you all next week!

Samambaia - Week 10

12 more days

Things are great, Gabriel came to church again. We played soccer, volleyball, football, and basketball this morning for like 5 hours in the hot sun and I'm now dying because I'm so out of shape... But it was a blast. Also I'm the worst at basketball.

Gabriel went to church by himself this week which was cool, and we just found a ton of new people to teach (like a lot).

Oh, and a super awesome Catholic lady gave us like 3 cakes to take home and eat the other day which was way epic and they were delicious (her job is literally making cake). Also, her 16 year old son is already playing professional soccer which is cool. We're going to go back to teach her again this week.

The members here are great, I'm going to miss them a ton. They really help us a lot.

Hope you guys have a great week, love ya'll.

Samambaia - Week 9

So not much to write again this week.

Things are going very well here in Samambaia. We had our Investigator Gabriel at church again this week and he has progressed a lot, he now has a baptismal date for the 26th of February and he's gotten a lot more excited and is preparing himself.

So this week I fainted, that was way weird. We had interviews with the Mission President this week and he gave a training to a bunch of us missionaries. Well, since I am right at the end of my mission, I was asked to go up front next to the President and talk a little bit about rules and studies and why they are important. So I went up, answered his questions and got really lightheaded, and then fainted in front of 50 missionaries. So to explain, water in our city is being cut off once a week and I didn't drink hardly any water that day. I also had not eaten any sort of breakfast. President said it was probably because of that, but everyone had a pretty good laugh afterwards.

Anyway, I now have less than 20 days until I come home and I´m getting more and more excited.

Love ya guys tons, have an amazing week!

Samambaia - Week 8

Gabriel, 4 more weeks

Well this week was good, we started back up with our investigator Gabriel. He is a way funny kid who thinks he's super tough and at 15 years old wants to be a gangster but in reality he's just not haha. But he came to church this week and is progressing well!

Other than that the work is busy. We also brought our investigator Edinara and her 2 kids to church but there is a chance that they will move out of the state next week which would be too bad but I guess we'll see.

Only 4 more weeks guys. It's weird to think about but I know I'm excited.

Love you all tons have a great week!

Samambaia - Week 7

Plane Ticket, Edinara

Well things are incredibly normal here in the mission, outside of the unpredictable weather (its either pouring rain or blistering sun). But overall things are just fine.

I got my plane ticket this week, I'm flying in Saturday morning March 4th and man was that a trunky phone call.

As far as investigators go we have a really good investigator at the moment, a lady named Edinara. We are focusing on finding new investigators and while the work could always be better things are going well.

Sorry its so short, Love you all tons tchau
